Teaching methods & strategies

Collaborative learning experience

Our collaborative learning style, follows an integrated approach to teaching. Although it is not the teacher’s job to entertain participants, we think it is vital to engage all participants in the learning process through interactive sessions and encourage critical thinking.

Traditional teaching techniques, based mainly on a teacher explaining a topic and students taking notes, may still be useful on occasion, but education today revolves more around encouraging the participant to awaken their curiosity and desire to learn.

You will be surprised how much you can learn from Walt Disney and how much fun it is to join our World Cafe. At least 50% of our time, we will work on practical examples and connect digital health theory with upcoming opportunities in developing countries.

Case Studies

Case studies are important for a steep learning curve. A single case study that shows that a theory is not correct or very useful in practice can lead to a much better understanding for the complex area of digital health.

With case-based teaching, students develop skills in analytical thinking and reflective judgment by reading and discussing complex, real-life scenarios. During the course we will work with examples from several countries. Ground level scenarios and common challenges will be discussed. Participants will be encouraged to offer their case studies that can illuminate key issues.
